This post is probably a few months late (sorry!), but we are officially closing the door on VG Confab.
I started VG Confab to give myself and like-minded individuals a platform to talk about video games. What we got was a small group of talented folks offering their views on various news and topics around the industry. It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work, and that’s where we got tripped up a bit. Myself and Carrie work in retail, and Jack and Cheetimus also happened to have a lot of crazy life stuff going on around that time. We quite frankly didn’t have the proper amount of time to dedicate to the blog, and had to stop. I decided to use the couple of months to evaluate if I truly had the time to write and edit here, and I sadly did not.
Along the same lines, a bit of serendipity came when our friends at The Nerdpocalypse approached me with the desire to expand their site and network. Their site-runner Jay and I got to talking and came up with the idea to do a video game podcast under the new Nerdpocalypse network. This ended up being perfect for me. It’s what we planned on working toward anyway, and I feel is the best way to get the best information and discussion to our followers with the evolving age of the internet.
And so, Dense Pixels has been born. I will be bringing you the Dense Pixels pocast every other week, and my panel will have some voices you recognize. In addition to being joined by Micah of The Nerdpocalypse, Jack and Cheetimus will also be regulars! I would also expect Carrie to join in occasionally as well. It’s going to be awesome, quite frankly. In addition, if there’s some huge gaming news or a topic that needs discussion, we will still be writing on The Nerdpocalypse.
So with this comes some changes. Those of you who follow us on twitter and/or Facebook (and if you didn’t, shame on you!) probably have already noticed we switched those accounts to Dense Pixels. You can also find the podcast on at our new website where you will want to go to check out the newest episodes of the podcast. Finally, leading up to the first episode on February 6, you’ll be able to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or your favorite podcatcher of choice so new episodes will be delivered to you in your sleep!
So as we say not goodbye, but see you in a few, I have to give some thank yous. Thanks to Jack, Carrie, and Rob who were awesome enough to join me on this journey, who worked their asses off for nothing but the love of writing, and who this whole venture would not have been possible without. Thanks to Jay, Micah, and Matthew of The Nerdpocalypse for their help in getting us off the ground and for this new opportunity. But thanks mostly to anyone reading this, because you are the reason we did this in the first place and we hope you all join us in our new venture as well. Believe me when I tell you it’s going to be a lot of fun.
VG Confab is dead. Long live Dense Pixels.
